Unexpressed Emotions

This is sadly true.
I often help people who have great lives.
Their relationship is great, they love their career, and they have no money worries.
But they just don’t feel “right” or “happy” or “content”.
Sometimes it has progressed where they are now feeling anxious.
Angry.
Cry at the smallest of things.
Lost their self-confidence.
Second guess all their decisions.
Relive conversations in their mind wondering if they offended someone.
Lay awake at night, worrying about things that in the morning seem irrelevant.
The issue isn’t that they have anxiety, or they get angry or they cry….
The issue is a little something stuck in their mind that they may or may not be aware of.
An unexpressed emotion from their past.
That comes to the surface with more and more frequency.
That makes you feel more and more uncomfortable.
As we say in therapy land, the issue is never the issue!
