If you are like I was, the MORE you let anxiety rule your life; the smaller your world becomes.
It creeps up on you, without you realising it.
At first it is just one or two things that you know are going to cause you anxiety, so you start to AVOID doing them. You even tell yourself you didn’t like doing them that much anyway and it is no big deal.
Then a couple of more things get added, you let people down at the last minute because you have had a PANIC attack, or you turn so many invitations down people STOP inviting you out.
Instead of making you feel BETTER because you don’t have to go out, it actually makes you feel WORSE as you now have guilt and shame added into the mix too.
And whats more it makes the next time you go out even harder as it seems like such a big issue now.
If this isn’t resolved your world becomes smaller and smaller until eventually you are frightened of everything and everyone.
Now here’s the thing.
You WEREN’T born with anxiety.
So over time you have LEARNT how to be anxious and you are probably pretty good at it!
