Clinical Hypnotherapy with Psychotherapy

Clinical Hypnotherapy can be immensely effective for a Number of Physical and Emotional Issues.

It is becoming more widely acknowledged now that feeling stressed, anxious or depressed, can cause a brain-body reaction. Stress and anxiety can cause diarrhoea, depression can cause constipation.  A number of psychosomatic conditions, (conditions with no known physical explanation) such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (I.B.S.), Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, (M.E.), Sudden Sensory Hearing Loss (S.S.H.L.), and Fibromyalgia are being linked more and more to a psychological trigger.

Using Clinical Hynotherapy I can help you locate, and in most cases distinguish the trigger, which in turn can reduce or completely alleviate the symptom.

What is Clinical Hypnotherapy (Hypnosis)?

In short, Clinical Hypnotherapy is Therapy, delivered under hypnosis. Most people are comfortable with the Therapy part – it’s the hypnosis part they are unsure of.

Hypnosis, is a totally natural state; we humans are in a state of hypnosis several times a day.

Some good examples are when we are watching television, engrossed in reading a good book or even driving; we are aware of everything going on around us and can continue to react to anything we need to (the telephone ringing, a knock at the door or a red traffic light).

Using Clinical Hypnotherapy in my practice in Southend on Sea, Essex we are able to block out anything that doesn’t need your immediate attention, so the subconscious and conscious parts of your brain are concentrating on exactly the same thing at the same time. When this happens, permanent, positive change can be made.

Therapy for Stopping Smoking

I offer 2 very different Therapies for Smoking Cessation which both take up to 2 hours to complete.

I can conduct a STOP smoking session with either 2 x 1 hour sessions with the Easy Quit Smoking Therapeutic model undertaken with Hypnosis or with 1 x 2 hour session with BWRT® at my practice in Southend on Sea, Essex.

As with all my Therapies I will conduct a complimentary Initial Consultation with you to discuss your reasons for stopping and any concerns you may have; this will enable us to choose together whether Therapy is right for you and if so which Therapy will suit you best.

Hypnosis Frequently Asked Questions

Can I be Hypnotised?

Everyone is receptive to hypnosis, but at differing speeds and levels. Certainly, some people take much longer than others to become hypnotised, but we can all enter into a hypnotic state given time.

Is Hypnosis dangerous

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind which we experience daily but are not normally aware that we are in the state.  Just before waking and going asleep we pass through the hypnotic state.  Contrary to what some stage hypnotists would have us believe, it is not possible for a therapist to make a client do anything against their wishes.

What will I experience during a Clinical Hypnotherapy session

Depending on each individual, the therapy aspect of hypnotherapy can at times be tough as it’s rarely easy to work through difficult issues.   The experience of hypnosis is different for everyone.  Some clients experience a very deep level of relaxation in which they totally ‘drift off’ whereas others suggest they feel very little other than a sense of peace and well-being.  Some clients report a tingling warm feeling throughout their body, some experience this just in their hands, whilst others still report no such experiences.

How many sessions will I need?

This will depend on what therapy is required. Some issues can be resolved with just one session whereas others may take between 6-10 sessions. During the initial consultation you will be provided with a guideline of how many sessions will be required for a particular issue.

Is it possible to have hypnotherapy sessions via Skype of Facetime?

In general I prefer to see people in person at my practice in Southend on Sea, Essex, however for some conditions or issues it is possible to receive hypnotherapy online.   Please call me for a Free consultation if you have any questions regarding hypnosis or hypnotherapy.
